This report was prepared by Simon Parkes Art Conservation Inc.:
This work is lined and retouched. There is some visible abrasion or weakness particularly in the left and right hand sky, and the paint layer has cracked quite noticeably throughout. The paint layer is stable. The canvas has a recent non-wax lining. Retouches are visible under ultraviolet light attempting to address the thinness to the paint layer in the barn and sky above on the left side, in the sky on the right side and slightly in the trees on the right side. Remnants of old varnish on the surface are also visible under ultraviolet light. Re-examining the retouches would help the picture to read better, but the work could also be hung as is.
