The brooch overall is slightly out of plane. There are faint scratches, dents, and spots of discoloration in places, most noticeably to the edges and reverse. There are surface irregularities on the left half of the floral element of the brooch, in keeping with the artist's working method. Faint accretions and associated discoloration are visible where the elements meet on the left end of the brooch. Subject to the foregoing it is our opinion that the work appears to be in generally good condition.
