The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

In addition to the catalogue description:
- the full sheet, with a deckle edge at right.
- some very pale time-staining in the margins and pale time-staining at the extreme sheet edges.
- a soft, vertical crease at the upper left sheet edge (circa 60mm.) and a horizontal, flattened crease at the upper sheet edge (circa 100 mm.), at right, mainly visible in raking light.
- a flattened diagonal crease (20 mm.) at the lower left sheet corner, mainly visible in raking light.
