Lot Essay

The Omega Speedmaster Mission watches were a special edition collection launched in 1997 to celebrate every NASA space mission that used the Omega Speedmaster. The set included 22 watches housed in a briefcase made from NASA spacesuit material, with each watch showcasing the mission patch of the specific mission on the 9 o'clock sub-dial. Additionally, Omega released each Mission watch separately in a very limited run of just 150 pieces per model.

The Omega Speedmaster Professional 'Missions' Gemini 5 Watch, part of Omega's individual release of these timepieces, is one of only 150 models produced for this exclusive edition. It honors the Gemini V mission, with the NASA mission patch displayed on the 9 o'clock sub-dial.
