Sale Overview

Christie’s is proud to present The Collector online sale, featuring a wide array of fine and decorative arts dating from the Baroque period to the twentieth century. The varied selection of works originate from ateliers and workshops across Europe from England to Russia, and beyond the continent.

Highlights of cabinetmaking include an exciting group of eighteenth-century ormolu-mounted mahogany furniture by David Roentgen and his followers; masterpieces of English and Irish furniture attributed to  makers such as John Cobb and Thomas Chippendale; and lavish works by François Linke and Emmanuel Zwiener from the grandeur of the fin de siècle. The sale offers further luxurious lacquered furniture and works  of art reflecting the great Asian influence.
