This remarkable consignment represents one of the most distinguished private collections to emerge in Southern California in recent memory – a cache guided by extraordinary discernment and uncommon vision. It unites the most revered names in the world of wine across Burgundy, Bordeaux and beyond with the wines of newly collectible younger masters of their craft.

At the summit stand the wines of Henri Jayer, whose singular mastery reshaped the landscape of Burgundy in the latter half of the 20th century. Central to this offering is a pristine trio of Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Cros Parantoux 1994 ($22,000–32,000), a benchmark expression of one of Burgundy’s most mythic vineyards. Rare bottles of Jayer’s Echézeaux 1978, 1984 and 1985 further underscore the collection’s gravitas, while his heir and protégé Emmanuel Rouget is represented by exceptional holdings, including six bottles each of Cros Parantoux 1999 and 2007, vintages that attest to Rouget’s continuity of Jayer’s exacting standards.

Complementing these are profound examples of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti’s Richebourg and La Tâche; Domaine Dujac’s Clos Saint-Denis and Clos de la Roche; Domaine Fourrier’s Clos Saint-Jacques and Griotte-Chambertin; Armand Rousseau’s Clos de la Roche and Ruchottes-Chambertin; and Leflaive’s Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet 1982 — an extraordinary range of world-class Burgundy by any measure.

Bordeaux and Champagne are both present in their most exalted forms. Among the collection’s crown jewels are two extraordinary bottles of Château Latour 1878 (rebouchées at the Château, $9,000–13,000 each), a rare 19th-century survivor whose provenance ensures its status as a historical monument in glass. Additional highlights include profound vintages of Château La Mission Haut-Brion, Lafleur and Angélus, alongside a distinguished run of Château d’Yquem and Ygrec spanning 1970–2001, charting the evolution of the most celebrated name in Sauternes over a quarter-century.

The Champagne offering is equally remarkable, with several releases of Salon; Jacques Selosse’s Initial and Lieux-Dits; Dom Pérignon Oenothèque; and Clos des Goisses.
