Christie’s Wine Department presents an auction of wines and spirits from Continental Cellars in London. Bordeaux is highlighted by collections of Left and Right Bank wines. Château Mouton-Rothschild is represented by top vintages, including the special 2000 vintage in bottles, magnums and double-magnums. Château Latour 1982 in magnum is presented, alongside Latour 1999 in jeroboam. An immaculate collection of 2016 Bordeaux appears, with Lafite-Rothschild, Mouton-Rothschild and Cheval Blanc in original wooden cases. A double-magnum of Château Haut-Brion 2009, a 2000 Duclot collection case and a lineup of Château d’Yquem from 1955 to 2011, in various formats will also excite wine lovers. On the Right Bank, Le Pin 1999 and 2001 (in magnum) feature.
Burgundy is represented. Domaine de la Romanée-Conti is the star Domaine. 1985 Échezeaux in magnum and 1988 in bottle are thrilling. A case of 2002 Vosne-Romanee 1er Cru Cuvée Duvault Blochet, the estate’s only Premier Cru wine also features. Domaine Leroy has wonderful vintages such as 1991 Richeborug. René Engel’s Vosne-Romanée Les Brûlées 1996 is presented.
The auction contains rare Rhône wines, with a suite of 2016 Maison Chapoutier, including Ermitage l'Ermite. Guigal’s famous La La wines feature ; La Mouline, La Landonne and La Turque. Château de Beaucastel is offered from collectible vintages, including Hommage à Jacques Perrin 1989.
The famous 1985 Sassicaia headlines Italy, supported by a vertical of Masseto from 1994 to 2000. Red label Bruno Giacosa are sublime wines, with Barbaresco Riserva Falletto di Serralunga d' Alba and Barbaresco Riserva Santo Stefano di Neive from late 80’s and early 90’s vintages.
Elsewhere, Krug Clos du Mesnil 1989 and 2002 will thrill. A stellar collection of Weingut Keller is a joy, with G-Max 2010 offered alongside Assortment cases from 2012, 2014 and 2016. Leading names from the New World will also tempt, Dominus, Opus One, Heitz, Phelps, Penfolds and Almaviva.
The special tawny Port, Graham’s 1882 Ne Oublie, is presented. A selection of spirits concludes the sale with Signatory’s bottling of 1970 Bowmore, The Macallan 1963 and 1967 and a range of 19th century Cognac, including historic vintages such as 1884, 1888, 1893 and 1900, from Maison Balluteaud.
