The Jewels and Handbags Online: The London Edit sale offers antique and contemporary jewels, coloured gems and diamonds, alongside over 150 handbags, accessories and lifestyle items — many of which are signed by major jewellery and luxury houses.
Jewellery highlights include a group of three graduated natural saltwater pearl necklaces, formerly in the collection of Lady Ludlow and thence by descent to the late Duchess of Abercorn, a comprehensive parure of ‘Passe Partout’ jewels by Van Cleef & Arpels, an impressive sugarloaf cabochon sapphire and diamond brooch by Cartier that may be transformed into a bracelet, a pair of Van Cleef & Arpels ‘Mystery’ set sapphire and diamond foliate ear clips, a collection of rings and earrings by Buccellati, and an exquisite late Victorian black opal and diamond brooch displaying the characteristic harlequin play of colours associated with the Lightning Ridge mine in Australia.
For the first time, Christie’s is delighted to offer an Hermès Shiny Bleu Électrique Mini Constance 18 with 18k white gold and diamond hardware. This piece is perfectly paired with an Hermès Shiny Marron Foncé Birkin 35 with 18k gold and diamond hardware. From Chanel, we see a runway clear lucite perfume bottle clutch and a runway Paris-Dubai metallic gold pearly Flap bag. Also represented are handbags, accessories and trunks from brands including Louis Vuitton, Dior, and Fendi.
Christie’s is delighted to present four one-of-a-kind pieces from Marni’s SS21 Marnifesto collection, sold without reserve to benefit the Alliance of Artists Communities, an international association of artist residencies. The selection of Marnifesto highlights will comprise of upcycled leather coats from the brand's archives, featuring hand-painted words and drawings inspired by Marni's community and with words inspired by Jonah Hill, Michelle Elie, Julien d’Ys and Mykki Blanco, among others.
