From 1–16 June, Christie’s Paris will hold an online sale of Old Master Paintings and Sculpture, in conjunction with a live auction on 15 June.
The sale spans five centuries of European painting and sculpture, with works from several French and European private collections. The Flemish section features interesting 17th century works such as a painting attributed to Frans Francken the Younger depicting an Allegory of Air, and a lively Tower of Babel by Hendrick van Cleeve III. The sale also unites a selection of some of the most prominent artists from the 18th century French school such as Greuze, Pillement and Le Prince. 19th century works also feature a beautiful still life by the female artist Ernestine Panckoucke, a pupil of Redouté. Offering a great variety of works to meet a wide range of tastes, this online sale is a unique opportunity to acquire works from the Middle Ages through to the Baroque and beyond.
