APOLLO 15 LAUNCHED FROM PAD 39A, JULY 26, 1971; ONE OF FIVE APOLLO 15 PHOTOS
[1] The Apollo 15 Saturn V space vehicle carrying Astronauts David R. Scott, Alfred M. Worden and James B. Irwin lifted off to the Moon at 9:34 a.m. EDT, July 26, 1971, from the Kennedy Space Centre’s Launch Complex 39A. From NASA caption.
[2] Apollo 15 was the fourth crewed mission of the United States program to land on the moon. This a snapshot of this mission with the footsteps of the astronauts and the tracks of the lunar rover tires visible.
[3] The Apollo Lunar Surface Experiments Package (ALSEP) used on Apollo 15.
[4] After having been himself photographed next to the flag by James Irwin, David Scott took Irwin’s portrait. Few Apollo photographs have been reproduced more often than this colour photo of Irwin, the flag, the Rover, the LM and Mount Hadley Delta.
[5] The apollo 15 Command Module, with Astronauts David R. Scott, Alfred M. Worden, and James B. Irwin aboard, safely touches down in the mid-Pacific Ocean to conclude a highly successful lunar landing mission. Although causing no harm to the crewmen, one of the three parachutes failed to function properly. The splashdown occurred at 3:45:53 pm. (CDT), August 7, 1971, some 330 miles north of Honolulu, Hawaii. The three astronauts were picked up by helicopter and flown to the prime recovery ship, USS Okinawa, which was only 6 ½ miles away. From NASA caption.

[2] Overall very good condition with signs commensurate with age, noting minor indentations on the recto, the corners slightly bumped and signs of erratum on the margin which is unlikely to be seen once framed. The verso is in excellent condition with one small stain that does not affect the recto.
[3] Overall excellent condition, noting a slight splatter stain on the recto and minor staining at the edge of the margins on the verso although this does not affect the image.
[4] Overall excellent condition of the recto with signs commensurate with age, such as slight scratching. The verso is also in excellent condition, with erratum identifying the seal number, 'AS15-88-11866'.
