54 x 68 x 7 cm).
ENGLISH The painting is painted on a copper plate, which has been inset into a wooden support. The copper plate is flat and the support is stable. In natural light some scattered retouching can be seen in the background, in some of the fruit and in the leaves, this is most notable in the blue tones. There has been some loss to the upper paint glazes in certain areas, but the composition retains a nice texture others, notably in the plum leaves, the hazelnuts and the pear and its leaves. Examination under UV light confirms the above observations. It further reveals some retouching to the ledge. A slightly larger area of restoration measuring approx. 9 cm in length is visible along the right-hand edge. The painting is under a uniform varnish, which may obscure earlier restoration campaigns. In a black and gilded painted wood frame (approx. 54 x 68 x 7 cm).
